The other day a tweet that an old friend of mine had placed on Twitter struck a chord with our philosophy at Train Terrain. It went something along the lines: "if you are a niche retailer your goal must be to help customers first and sell to them second."
In many ways this is what TT is all about - helping modellers pursue their hobbies. Of course we want to sell our customers things - we have to - but helping must come first.
Train Terrain is a specialist shop, we seek to supply the more unusual models that we know there is a demand for but which are often harder to find. But we need you to tell us what you would like us to provide for you.
We are slowly expanding the number of events that we are attending and it was great to see some of you at the Norwich Model Railway Exhibition last week. Next up is a Model Show at Newport Caravan Park Hemsby on Easter Sunday. After that you can see us at:
Wymondham Toy and Train Fair on Sunday May 4th
North Norfolk Model Club Show in Cromer on Saturday June 8th
Strumpshaw Steam Museum Modellers's Day on September 27th
Aylsham Model Railway Exhibition on Saturday October 4th www.
There may be more too which we'll tell you about once they are confirmed.
The other strand to the business is our layout and diorama building service. Our first commission is a room sized layout for a retired gentleman to run his collection of European trams. Quite a challenge.
We'll cover progress of this layout in future blog posts.
So that's it for Blog - The First.
The invitation goes out to you, Terrainers, let us help you with your hobby.
Best wishes to all
